Re: Who should play Robert Newton in a biopic?
Thanks! Yes it does have a title: "To the Hesitating Purchaser". Stevenson put it at the beginning of the novel.
Happy Halloween!

Oh, ok, I didn't know that that's what it was called, ok.
I've read the book and I saw it at the front, there's two parts to it and I'm trying to memorize the second part. I know the first part inside out.

Re: Who should play Robert Newton in a biopic?
My vote goes to Phil Daniels, certainly for the older Robert Newton scenes anyway. My dad can't get over how alike the two actors are. I just don't know if it'd be physically possible for Phil Daniels to attempt anything like Bobbie's natural accent... but I'm sure he could if he tried really hard!!!!!
Shame really that Moonie isn't with us anymore cos he would've been absolutely perfect!!!!!!!!!!

By Jove, I think you've got something there! Good choice!

OMG, that would've been his dream role!

Re: Who should play Robert Newton in a biopic?
Hello everyone!!
Going back to my Phil Daniels choice, I now have what can only be described as "Pics to Prove it".
Phil Daniels is on this year's Strictly Come Dancing (the British version of Dancing With The Stars) - I am SO excited about it (it was rumoured that Adam West was going to be on this year's Dancing with the Stars but it wasn't to be. For shame. Didn't they SEE him do the Batutsi in the first episode of Batman?!)... but anyway, the sexy Mod we knew and loved as Jimmy off of Quadrophenia...
*sigh* Eyeliner... (Keith Moon c.1964, anyone??)
Now looks wonderfully Newton-esque...
Eyebrows and everything...............
*sigh*

Aww, our little Jimmy's all grown up! (Guyliner is nice, but he actually looks cuter now.) Yeah, I think he could pull off the Bob thing lookswise. But as for his acting, I only know him as Jimmy (so far). D'oh, now I've got "5:15" stuck in my head thanks to that first pic. But there are definitely worse songs to have stuck in your head!
