Henry V
This is a place to discuss Robert Newton's performance as Ancient Pistol in 1944's groundbreaking film Henry V (starring and directed by Sir Laurence Olivier and written, of course, by William Shakespeare), along with other aspects of the film, comparisons to other movie versions, the original play, etc.

Re: Henry V
I love this movie. It is brilliantly done and has a stellar cast.
Even though RN is only seen here and there throughout the film, he steals the show once again! Ancient Pistol is one of his best in my humble opinion.
You can probably tell that from the avatar I selected!

Re: Henry V
Yes, I agree, he totally steals all the scenes he's in. Actually, I think that's an inherent part of the character, and they couldn't have picked a better actor than Robert Newton to do it!
