Here is a clip that I found of Robert Newton as Lukey in Odd Man Out: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2PlPOfy1JTg&feature=channel
Lukey is one of my favorite of his characters!

Re: Video clips

Thanks Jenny, That clip is one of my favorites. I'm a fan of Lukey too. Did you ever notice, in that one scene, when he grabs Shell and says: "I'm gonna break your little neck", that his lips didn't match with that remark? I've noticed it in the movie, but I thought that maybe it was my DVD making a burp or something right at that point. However, it was quite plain in the clip. I wonder if he used some "bad" word in the original take and rather than redo the whole scene, they just did the voice over. Let me know if you notice it too.
I also love the little 'oh' that he says when Tomer gives him the money to go get a drink. It was kind of childlike but sweet.

Hi!
Yes! I also thought that Bobbie may have used some choice words during the take that resulted in an eventual dubbing of the lines.
That whole lament that Lukey makes about the faces in the fire is brillilantly done! And I agree that when Tober gives him the money for the drink, his response of, "Oh - thank you, Tober!" is childlike. It was a great way to show the wide scope of Lukey's madness and lightning-fast mood swings.

Re: Video clips

Excuse me. I made a mistake in the character 'Tober's' name. I called him Tomer instead of Tober. That may be because there is a Tomer where I work. So I confused the names.
I agree, Lukey did have his mood swings, didn't he?
